After the roaring success that was Paddy’s Day 2012, Vagabonds took a well earned break for a week or two. Back in full swing with the run up to summer, we are practicing a couple of times a week and playing around with some new ideas. Seeing as we now have more strings to our bow, we have a greater scope when it comes to the music we incorporate into our set; so who knows what Ciaran will suggest next- all we need now is a brass section!
The lovely folks at the Forum were so happy with us after St.Patrick’s Day that they have invited us back on a monthly basis, keep an eye out on our Twitter and Facebook for upcoming dates. We played our first post Paddy’s gig two weeks back after game two but alas the Canucks were defeated. In spite of the sour taste in Vancouver’s mouth, we rocked out a two hour set into the early hours and had a cracking night all round.
Our next big gig will be May 11th minus the female contingent of the group. Who would have thought two members would both be travelling home to the motherland at the same time apart from Christmas – BA sale, too good to miss! Speaking of, I think it is only fitting to say a big congratulations and all the love to our drummer Kenny and his now fiancée, Lorraine. Turns out, Kenny isn’t only an animal behind the drums but also a bit of a romantic as we witnessed on Paddy’s Day, he is also currently back in the Emerald Isle and we wish them both a safe trip.
I think that about covers it for now, hope to see you all at our next gig!
